The Dragon's Hearth Sanctuary celebrates the points of transitions within the year as they are a sacred part of who we are. We are reclaiming our magic, our mysteries, our courage and our strengths which are deeply rooted in our spirit. We are all rediscovering ourselves by living a life filled with old traditions applied and updated for the modern age as a recipe to living in peace. People that live in the United States are fortunate to have the opportunity to explore the vast amounts of education available at our fingertips, it only makes sense to actually use what we read in our daily lives and make that conscious choice to improve oneself so that their environment that they live in also becomes improved. Each spiritual path is diverse with individuality and different lessons to teach, but the foundation of this path is still the same. Our beliefs are a part of what defines us and many believe that the faith extends to encompassing and following the manifestations of Spirit as a gender duality and polarity, our honoring of the Circle of Life in its completeness and directions, polytheism, acceptable and understandable expressions of the divine impulse, the recognition of nature as being sacred, mystic, and all things in the world being sacred and divine including ourselves. Even if you choose not to apply the following chapters to your life or blending its lessons into your tradition at least you have sampled one more unique spiritual path in the fold of the thousands in existence, and I am honored you have chosen to read this book. Recognizing the magic of the universe and the magic within ourselves our sense of peace becomes more evident as time passes. To explore both sides of oneself is to find the masculine and feminine within, and if it means looking for external symbolism to further this endeavor the only limit is ones imagination.
The spiritual tradition many choose to honor is called Mystic Shamanism, which is a culmination of magic workings stemming from both witchcraft and techniques from shamanism. The majority who follow this path are Pagan - practicing the old, nature based and feminine oriented spirituality which includes healing, herbology, divination, and other aspects of the Mystic Shaman path as we perform rites and rituals during the year. The beliefs and practices that we understand at its root are commonly shared and expressed among the many indigenous and modern traditions of most earth based religions , mainstream religions, and traditions and not just in Mystic Shamanism alone. Modern practices and technologies are included to enhance our experience and help improve on the end result of our practice. A tradition is a ritual, belief, or practice which is passed on from generation to generation, or within a tribe, community, or society that is maintained in the present while the foundations remain rooted in the past. As you read on you will find each journey is unique for everyone. Each of us interpret our experiences and views in our own way and therefore become different and hold special significance to the student.
The path we tread is not truly new, as we live intuitively treading through time in the modern age, moving forward. We cannot go back in time to what once was, therefore it is only logical to move ahead into the future with new awareness and outlook on life. This will entail the core beliefs, practices, spirituality, ethics, and miscellaneous information that is basic regarding the Way. While this will not speak for all, this will speak about the path that I walk and it is from the eyes of one who has walked this path for three decades. This is my little corner of the universe that I believe to be a good life path to follow. I do not fancy myself a great teacher of sorts, but perhaps more as a guide - explaining things as I go. I am just a stepping stone for you, and I hope I serve you well. Some would consider the collection of information I utilize would be categorized as an attempt at a reconstructionist religious or spiritual practice. Others say Mystic Shamanism is eclectic paganism. To express my stance upon the categorization of what Mystic Shamanism is I choose to recreate ancient traditions and practices wherever there is a primary source from which information can be gathered from and recreate those ancient rituals, rites, and practices that would fit into modern day situations and elaborate upon these where information and resources are scarce or nonexistent. We attempt to try to learn more about ourselves, the Otherkin we associate with, the people, the lifestyle, the religion, of the era, and while we do allow for new information, ideas, and inventions when there are gaps we also feel historical data is the balancing necessity to compliment that which we adhere to as our beliefs. We choose to create, or reconstruct if you will, a life path that follows legality, practicality, and appropriation for the here and now even though the historical data is extremely limited and intuition must balance that out.

The Daughters of Wyrd, which is our inner coven, has been re-creating the original spirituality or spiritual path of the Ancestors with modern additions, for we feel our spirituality is rooted in the past but must change with the present - as change is ever constant, and should never be separated from the mundane part of our lives. Members are invited to work with any deity they choose, as our workings are never hindered by the diversity of our personal choices. In addition, we have an outer coven called the Grove of The Crystal Dragons, where initiates and the public can join open coven events and come learn about the temple and join in the fun. Of course like all organizations we have our rules and guidelines which focuses on respect and tolerance when being a member or visitor of the Coven.
