The Dragons Hearth Sanctuary

The Dragons Hearth Sanctuary is a temple which hosts a Hearth and several Groves of close friends and members that share similar interests in preserving the world, while practicing the faith and spirituality of the Old Ones and have the love of the old-world style enough to want to live it, almost daily. We celebrate the old-world holidays, those of ancient Pagan roots. We have a love of the mystical and the mythical and have most likely always had a pull towards it as if it was a calling. We abide by a code of ethics similar to the Code of Chivalry. We are a group of Pagans and spiritualists that have a great reverence for nature and an interest in the past to better our future. Mystic Shamanism follows a predated, ancient, path older than Christianity and other religions established in the world, although the practices, methods and rituals have been updated to fit modern times or enhanced due to lack of information. Issac Bonewits calls this Neo-Paganism.

The Dragons Hearth Sanctuary hosts many pagan events, scheduled services, and social gatherings. We also have plans for the future of hosting Seminars, Retreats, and introductory classes on Paganism.

The Sanctuary also has The Dragons Hearth Academy which offers courses in Paganism, centralizing on the Mystic Shaman tradition. The training in Mystic Shamanism includes required reading and writing, participation in leadership workshops and group instruction, completion of coursework, organizing and conducting public ritual, a ministerial training of at least one year, and the writing of a spiritual journal. The Dragons Hearth Academy's Clergy Program is similar in nature to the basic Seminary Programs in existence, but the structure of the Academy has some different methods and requirements. All details are noted with The Dragons Hearth Academy.

The Daughters of Wyrd consists of the Hearth Of The Crystal Dragons and is a closed coven only consisting of an eclectic group that follow their interpretation of Mystic Shamanism and are dedicated members to the Temple.  The Temple also hosts our open coven which is The Grove Of The Crystal Dragons which includes various groves outside the proto-grove and is open to everyone who wishes to participate in open ritual.  We come from diverse backgrounds and are united by an enthusiasm to celebrate our beliefs and faiths while learning more about the world we live in and the relationships we create,  Our goal is to help people here in New York and around the world through our education, fellowship, and dedication to growth for ourselves and the environment around us.  We’re always striving to do impactful work we’re proud of and connecting with like minds, sharing ideas, and living a healthier lifestyle.  Our wish is to build a community that we love to be a part of.  We overcome remote challenges through transparency, trust, and video conferencing via Discord.  We offer classes on and offline, seminars, and hope in the future offer retreats.

Pagan rituals commonly focus on honoring a deity or deities; observing natural cycles, such as seasonal changes or the waxing and waning of the moon; or celebrating rites of passage, such as birth, transitioning into adulthood, marriage, and death. Although the form of ritual varies by tradition, Pagan rituals tend to engage the participants physically. Rituals often include drumming, chanting, and dancing. Some Pagans offer food or drink to their gods or ancestors; these offerings may be shared by the participants as part of a feast, or sometimes disposed of ritually. Representations of earth, air, fire, and water may also be employed for cleansing and consecration: for instance, participants might anoint themselves with salt water (earth and water) and burn incense (air and fire) as part of ritual preparation.

The term Reconstructionism is also an apt for our tradition, which does include the definition of, "A movement seeking to revive the beliefs and practices of a historic form of religion or spirituality, especially a pre-Christian polytheistic religion."  This path has always been here in multitudes of various forms and practiced by various people from Asia Minor to the North American continent.  We are those whom are reclaiming our spirit, and living as we truly feel guided to.  There are many upon Mother Earth whom have reclaimed their souls, their identities- including but not limited to Other-kin.  Mystic Shamanism remains a living, real, viable, practice and for those reclaiming their spirit upon Mother Earth.
